Legito PowerUp 2024 Introducing the Revolutionary New Document Editor
Continuing our series of reports from this year’s PowerUp conference, Mark Settle introduced the new Legito Document Editor. 800,000 lines of new code and the efforts of 30 people combine to bring benefits now, but pave the way for lots more to come.
- The new Document Editor is built on a completely new technology, designed for scalability and adaptability.
- Mark played videos highlighting some of the new features available right now, but the import of the new Document Editor becomes more apparent when we learn that it took the development team just 3 weeks to add those features with the new technology stack.
- The technology is an enabler for faster and more frequent improvements.
Here’s a list of some of the improvements available now with the new Document editor:
- Dual layout – see questions presented in a form on one side of the screen, while also seeing how the document builds on the right side of the screen
- Carousel layout – for templates that have multiple documents, the new layout makes it easy to rotate views of the documents
- Highlight latest change – a facility to see the latest change to a document, or all changes to the document, regardless of who made the change
- Improved forms – a cleaner, crisper user experience for forms, with new visual flags to alert users to issues with the document
Here’s a list of some of the improvements available now with the new Document editor:
- Add new clause anywhere – users can now add clauses anywhere, not just at the end of an article
- New visualisations – for many of the existing features, there are more options to tweak how they are presented to users
- Improved rendering in browser – the new Document Editor is closing the gap between the visualisation of a document in the browser and the appearance of the document as it will appear in a Word document. This gap will continue to close.
- More options for emailing documents – including emails to any person (not just Legito users) with control over message content, and with options for CC and BCC addresses. Chose the file format for the documents.
- Improved handling of draft documents – resume work on unsaved documents where you left off – even on a different device.
